Deployment View Options: Deploy Tab: Group Policy Paths
Deployment View Options: Deploy Tab: Group Policy Paths
Solution
When deploying a policy package with a group policy, ZENith can update the UNC path of the "Network location of existing/new Group Policy" field of that package to a server and volume relative to the Destination container.
Absolute
Group Policy Paths will literally copy the "Network location of existing/new Group Policy" path of the source object to the destination object.
So, if the policy package User Package.LAX.ORG has a Group Policy path of \\LAXsrv01\data\group.adm and is deployed to NYC.ORG, the new object (User Package.NYC.ACME) will be maintain these exact settings.
Relative
Group Policy Paths will generate new values for the "Network location of existing/new Group Policy" path based on the values of the target container's ZENith Configuration Object.
The ZENith Configuration Object (or ZCO) is a mostly-empty Application Object that holds container-specific information in each container. ZENith uses the ZCO to replace container-specific information (such as server name and volume name for a given site) as each object is deployed.
So, if the policy package User Package.LAX.ORG has a Group Policy path of \\LAXsrv01\data\group.adm, and is deployed to NYC.ORG, where ZENith Configuration.NYC.ORG is configured thus:
Z_SOURCE_SERVER:
NYCsrv02
Z_SOURCE_VOLUME:
apps
the new object (User Package.NYC.ACME) will inherit these values, and have a Group Policy path of \\NYCsrv02\apps\group.adm
